Primarily made of ground marble and limestone, the application of overlapping layers of Venetian Plaster creates various shade intensities of the same color.
Burnished to a high shine, the finish replicates the beauty, depth and elegance of polished marble. Un-burnished, it is a low-sheen plaster finish reminiscent of years long gone. Venetian Plaster can be tinted using universal paint colorants to a broad palette.
This three product process consists of the Basecoat (to smooth and prep the surface), the tintable Venetian Plaster (applied in 2-3 coats) and the Sealer (to improve shine and seal the finish). |

The Products
VP Basecoat is a 100% acrylic, waterbased ready-to-use compound for skim coating and leveling interior drywall surfaces prior to the application of Litex's Venetian Plaster . The Basecoat is recommended instead of standard joint compound because it is durable enough to withstand the pressure applied during the burnishing process of the Venetian Plaster . This item is essential for commercial installations.

Venetian Plaster is a tintable 100% acrylic, modified plaster material applied with a stainless steel trowel to achieve a highly decorative finish. Because Venetian Palster is translucent in nature, the overlapping application method results in a marble effect where shade variations of the same color are revealed. The finish can be burnished (polished) to achieve a high shine or left in a natural, unpolished finish.

VP Sealer is white paste that is trowel applied to the final coat of Venetian Plaster as a protective top coat, to make the finish washable and to facilitate burnishing. The Sealer will slightly darken the finish and is essential for use in high-traffic or high-moisture areas. Available in quarts.
